Neurotoxins
What are they?
Botulinum toxin-A under different brand names like Botox®(onabotulinumtoxinA), and Xeomin®(incobotulinumtoxinA) used for relaxation of facial lines and wrinkles. When injected into certain facial muscles they relax the muscles, thus smoothing out the wrinkles. This typically lasts 3-6 months. depending on your level of activity, the number of units, and your metabolism. Downtime after such procedures is minimal to none. Most patients return to regular daily activities immediately.

Side effects
They are rare and temporary.

Bruising at injection site, usually can be minimized by avoiding alcoholic drinks couple nights before your treatment, and avoid NSAIDs class of medications (like Aspirin, Ibuprofen to name few) couple days before your treatment. Consult your PCP regarding your medications before making a decision to stop any.

Drooping of the eyelid, these could be treated with special eye drops, however, if left alone, usually resolve within less than 4 weeks.

Eyebrow drop, this can often happen due to over treating forehead muscles in patients with low set eyebrows. This can be usually corrected by treating muscles responsible of pulling down your eyebrows.

Slight burning, swelling, and/or pain at site of injection. Usually short lived and well tolerated.
What to expect
Consultation to help identify areas of concern and define realistic goals. Then, you will receive an individualized treatment plan. This way, you will have an idea about the average cost so you can comfortably control how to proceed.
For the first 4 hours after your treatment we ask you to:-

Avoid rubbing or massaging the treated areas

Avoid lying flat

Avoid strenuous activity like a workout
Results start to appear after about 48-72 hours and will have final results by 10-14 days at which we ask for a follow up visit or call to visit areas of concern as more product might be needed to achieve your optimal results.
